A Snapshot Of What Kids Are Reading: 25 Top Books of the Month

February 9, 2010

Our media specialist ran a data snapshot to show what were the most popular checkouts for the past month. Hands down it looks like Ellen Hopkins is kicking butt and taking names with several titles represented. With Dear John opening last Friday, Nicholas Sparks still is endearing himself to young audiences with several titles on the list. Most of the big names in YA and even in adult literature are represented. So, without further adieu, here’s the list!

(1). Tricks /Ellen Hopkins

(2). Tempted: House of Night/PC Cast

 (4). Impulse/Ellen Hopkins

  1. Oh, I like this list! Do this again! 🙂

  2. Yay that kids have enough taste to still read Stephen King (at least the good stuff).

I expected PC Cast’s books, and Riordan makes sense with the movie coming out. Meg Cabot’s always good.

    No comment on Clare. Ever.

The Time Traveler’s Wife is a shock to me, I wouldn’t think that was a “young person” book. Ditto Sparks’ stuff.

And I have to say I’m surprised that Breaking Dawn is still on there, but I guess the movies are making the books resurge.

  3. HAHA, thanks Regan! I will!

  4. Now if only I could write like Ellen Hopkins. 😉

  5. Dear John is a BOOK too??

  6. Wow have good collection of books. I think books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers.

  7. Great books! Read many of them. THE TIME TRAVELER’S WIFE is one of my favorites and I adore Ellen Hopkins’s novels.
