Halloween Treat Bag (Virtual Edition)

October 31, 2009

In a small way, everyday is Halloween when you’re a writer.  Through our characters, we get to imagine the world in a different way. We sit at our desk (or at Starbucks), haul on our invisible costumes, and imagine what life would be like for a teenage werewolf or a demon slayer or a wayward angel.

In honor of Halloween (and to keep Kathleen typing so she’ll stop eating the candy and leave some for the trick or treaters), OPWFT presents you with a virtual treat bag–something to provide endless amounts of internet fun while not ruining your waistline.

First off, no treat bag is complete without spiffy packaging.

Spiffy packaging out of the way, on to the goodies!

Spooky Classics

Project Gutenberg takes books that have fallen into the public domain and makes them available (for free) to internet users. Halloween picks: Dracula by Bram Stoker and Grimms’ Fairy Tales by The Brother’s Grim.

Phobias (Neil Gaiman Style)

Black cats, pumkins, and spiders (oh my!).

Have a safe and happy Halloween!
